Call of Duty:World At War Zombie Mode

I was browsing some of the videos on YouTube last night, watching some of the multiplayer gameplay, I came across a video showing a Zombie mode, at first I wasn’t sure if this was real, but it actually appears to be official from sources.

Our Zombie game mode is not part of the main story campaign – it is an entirely separate bonus mode for the next-gen versions, which will be available after our credits roll. You can play the mode solo, but I highly recommend playing it with 3 of your friends via Co-Op.

The mode has a fun economy system which allows you to accumulate points, which can be spent on purchasing weapon upgrades, ammunition, and opening new sections of the level to expand your fight as each wave of Zombies grow in difficulty.

I for one will be getting it, not sure if it will keep be hooked as much as Call of Duty 4:Modern Warfare.

Anyone else getting it, or has played the beta version on the Xbox?

There is a PC beta available, which I downloaded and tried, but my Laptop isn’t suitable for playing games on it, so I couldn’t really move while in game.

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow 6 Vegas 2

Yesterday I bought Rainbow 6 Vegas 2 for the PS3, hoping it would give my the enjoyment of Call of Duty 4:Modern Warfare.

I started out with the Single player, played it for a couple of hours, which was a good sign already, because the last 2 games I bought have a combined play time of less than an hour, lol. Can’t really compare RB6V2 with COD4:MW as they are quite a bit different. RB6V2 is far more tactical, it has a very cool cover system where you can lean up against walls, boxes etc, and peak round the corners. COD4:MW is all about guns blazing, not so much tactical involved, though some modes can require tactics, all depends on your team I suppose.

I was a little disappointed with some of the graphics in RB6V2, though nothing that really puts me off, just could have done with some finer details in places.

The biggest let down for me; online play (aka multi-player). For the few games I played, it was extremely laggy, slow. It was hard using the cover system due to the lag, and most of my deaths were due to grenades being chucked left, right, and center. Maybe I caught it at a busy time, so I may give it another go after I have finished the single player. Something I did like was the way you can select which map you want to play, if only this was an option in COD4:MW.

Also, for both single and multi-player, is it not possible to cook your grenades? If not, then that is another let down for me :P

For me it doesn’t come close to COD4, but it does give me some enjoyment compared to Medal of Honour: Airborne, and Unreal Tournament III.

Anyone else got this game? What are your thoughts?

Sniffing PS3

Recently I have been trying to sniff the PS3. No, it’s not some new fetish, I am sniffing the packets. Problem is, I never get anything from the PS3, I have tried it with the browser, and with an online game, still nothing. I use Wireshark, and it works fine, but for some reason I just can’t capture anything from the PS3.

Last night I tried to get the PS3 to share my laptop connection (Internet Connection Sharing), but no joy. I have read tons of articles on how to do it, but nothing will work.

What’s my reason for capturing the PS3?

I do have a good reason for doing it, though don’t wish to share why, or more specifically what I am trying to capture, as it will be a new project for me to allow the gaming community to use.

Has anyone else got any ideas? I have heard about something called a “CrossOver Cable”, but haven’t looked into that yet.

My setup is:

BT Home Hub
WLAN Card for laptop

So everything is wireless, PS3 connects to the hub, and the laptop connects to the hub via WLAN card. Some how I need to make the PS3 connect to my laptop so I can capture all the data.
