Arrrgghhh, all emails gone
I just loaded up Mozilla Thunderbird to check my emails, only to find that every thing has gone, for some reason it was asking for me to create an account. So after a few minutes looking into the problem, and restarting, I had a look in the support forum for Thunderbird, and someone had got the same problem (yesterday in fact). Someone posted a link to an article on how to fix it, so thank god it is documented, I was really worried that all my emails, folders and address book had been lost for good.

Link included incase anyone else has this problem. I had to setup my account again, cause for some reason I just couldn’t get the default profile to work. Ah well, least I have my emails.
Lesson learnt:Â Back up more often
More coding
Another day of coding non stop. Really am getting this project done. Usually I would struggle to sit here for more that 5 hours of coding the same project, but for some reason I have gone way past that. I think it must be the money that is motivating me to get it done quicker
Saturday afternoon, I will make a start on the more complicated stuff. Usually I wouldn’t do any work on the weekend, but I just want to get this project finished so I can get back to working on other stuff (my forum for example).
9 hours of coding
I done around 9 hours of coding today, 7 straight hours, then 2 more just now. I’m working on a clients site, there is a lot of coding to do for it, i’m hoping to get it done under 2 weeks if possible.
Client: http://csao.net
As you can see, the site isn’t great is it? :p
The new site is really nice, i’m looking forward to finishing it so the client gets to see it.
Elixant Hacked
Well, it’s a very disappointing day for Elixant, it appears that one of the Solace servers have been hacked by the KatRina Iranian Hackers. I noticed Alan’s site was defaced, at first I thought it may have been my coding (I coded Alan’s site), but I went to Elixant to see if anything had been reported, but I was pleased to find that it was the server that got hacked, which obviously is a serious issue.
Not to worry though, a backup is made quite often, so those sites will be back in no time.
Work
I’ve just about finished a clients website, got to let them see it first, but it’s just about there, so i’m happy. Not a big paid job, as I done it cheap.
Soon, I have to start another job, which is big money, so I can’t wait to get paid for that :p
pixelDepth Forum Added
So, a forum has been added to http://pixelDepth.net, I decided to use phpBB, as i’m just used to it, and it was easier to modify.
I’m working on my own forum which is coming along very nicely, it’s a mix between ProBoards and IPB I think. It will be kept rather simple for version 1, i’m currently working on the ACP area. I’ve had enough of ProBoard style admin areas, so I went for boxes down the left hand side column, looks nice, well, I like it. Version 1 probably won’t be up to the standard as IPB, VB etc (feature wise), but I just want to get something secure done first, then build on top of it. Then I may take it the Open Source route to try and build a big member base.
As for the forum just added, I don’t think it will work to be honest, I don’t think it will be very active at all, but i’ll give it some time.
Interactive Buddy
Just been playing this, it’s fun :p…
Need a break
Yep, need a break. Been coding all day, working on the clients site, so need a little break from doing it.
So I’m now opening Notepad2, thinking what I can write in Javascript, it’s these times when I come up with some stupid / pointless code that has no real use, but is fun to write (like my XBM Constructor).
Anyone got any ideas?
Art Square Cafe
Right now i’m working on the website for a client. They don’t want any graphics or actual layout done, they just need an easy way to update the site, so i’m coding the control panel to allow them to do this.
With any site I do for a client, I like to know it is done properly, and that it looks good. Here is the clients current site…
http://www.artsquarecafe.ca/ (as of 10/08/06)
It’s not bad, rather simple, but one thing I just didn’t like was the frames, so I have completely redone the HTML so I can drop the frames, and also made it so it fits in most resolutions. In 800 x 600, it is stretched.
I’m not a graphic designer, but managed to tweak a graphic or 2, was pleased with that :p.
Not fun stuff to do, isn’t going to pay a lot, but anything helps.
No Job
So, my job ended about a week or go a so, I knew it was only temporary, but it finished earlier than expected, so now I have no money coming in
I have a small job that needs doing for a client this week, won’t earn much from it, but anything helps put food on the table.
To be honest, i’m not sure where to go from here, there are no jobs to apply for, I have no real way to make any money.
To pass the time away, and help me stop thinking about bills, i’ve been very active on ProBoards lately helping people in the Code Support board, and also working on my own project.

What Am I Doing?
- Installed W@W 1.02 patch, should now be able to play with American friends, let the desync commence
- Just finished playing World at War, can now connect to people. Spawning is really bad, a very high chance of being shot in the back.
- Still can't connect to anyone on World at War multiplayer, but people can connect to me, very annoying.
- Finished Call of Duty World at War single player, felt shorter than Modern Warfare. Now I can play Zombie mode.
- Played Call of Duty World at War, at the moment I'm not keen on it, WWII doesn't do it for me. I'll keep playing, might start to like it.
- Yay, I got news that Call of Duty World at War has been delivered from Game.
- Just finished playing Call of Duty 4, which could be the last time, as W@W should arrive tomorrow.
- At work
- Played some CoD4 before work, my team was really bad
- Downloading Ubuntu, Vista is horrible to develope on
- On my way home through the lovely rain on my bike
- Completed Far Cry 2 at the weekend
- Installed Twinkle app on touch, awesome for a free app
- Setting up Twitter on my Ipod Touch
